Recession Delays Retirement, While Morgan Drexen Makes It a Reality
A recent survey from Ameritrade reveals that the majority of American consumers are willing to support their family members in adulthood, even if it takes away from their own nest egg. 34% of baby boomers, those born between 1946 and 1964, expect to financially support their adult children. In addition, 47% said they also have had their adult children, ages 25 and over, move back home with them for three months or longer.
Morgan Drexen supported attorney-client Maxine R. from Georgia and her husband had been married over 30 years when their adult daughter started to have medical problems, “We helped pay for her medical bills and helped her get a car and you know one thing led to another and we trying to help her out mostly.”
Maxine and her husband, who had been working for the county most of their marriage, had hoped retire on-time and comfortably, however instead they found themselves almost $40,000 in unsecured debt.
Unable to reduce the principal due to interest rates, they immediately engaged in a non-formal debt resolution program with The Williamson law firm supported by Morgan Drexen.
“The interest rates were very high. We couldn’t pay enough and we would be paying on this all our lives if we hadn’t gone through the Morgan Drexen supported program,” explains Maxine.
With the assistance of the law firm and integrated legal support provided by Morgan Drexen, Maxine and her husband reached settlements on all their engaged accounts. Today they are not only living debt free, but have learned worthwhile lessons about personal finance.
“I’m certainly not going to be charging anything and we are only paying for our house and utilities. We are going to be very comfortable as we finally go into retirement. Thank you so much Morgan Drexen, you all are just wonderful,” Maxine exclaims.
According the the Ameritrade survey, as a direct result of the recession 50% of respondents plan to retire later than expected. A growing trend indeed, as many consumers have given up on the dream of retiring by the age of 65.
Morgan Drexen is dedicated to helping American families accomplish financial freedom and tend to their nest egg once again. The company has recently celebrated the graduation of the 2,000th attorney-client from the debt-resolution program.
“Numbers like this demonstrate that those who doubt whether a debt resolution program can be successful aren’t fully informed. It’s not just people’s finances but their lives that are being improved through the assistance of Morgan Drexen’s support team,” says Morgan Drexen supported attorney Michael B. Fisher.
